Set up a proportion. If 9 meters makes 24 bows, then x meters makes 16 bows.

x= # meters needed to make 16 bows

9 meters/24 bows= x meters/16 bows
cross multiply
(9*16)= (24*x)
144= 24x
divide both sides by 24
6= x

OR ALTERNATE METHOD

Find how much is needed per bow and multiply by 16 bows.

=9 meters ÷ 24 bows
=0.375 meters per bow

=0.375 * 16 bows
=6 meters needed

Use whichever method you are more comfortable with

ANSWER: It takes 6 meters to make 16 bows

Hope this helps! :)
