C. Superior military leaders
Even though the South's economic was not built up, and their population was smaller, they had more experienced military leaders, including Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, to name a few. These military leaders were the only reason the South was able to hold out for years, because of their ingenious tactics.
