camille has 8 feet of rope. she cuts the rope into 1/3 foot pieces for a science project. how many 1/3 foot pieces of rope does she have?

First, you would start by dividing. Make 8 a fraction. Now, multiply 8/1 (the new fraction) by the reciprocal of 1/3 (3/1). 8/1•3/1= 24. So, Camille has 24 1/3 ft. pieces of rope. :)
