The most visible form of resistance to slavery was open rebellion.

The less visible were sabotage at work: working slower, destroying machinery in the hope that they will take long to repair, during which time they don't have to work, etc.

Sometimes, slave women also terminated their pregnancies, and in this way "stole" (what the owners thought) another slave from their owners.
