This would be the Charleston. It would become symbolic of the times, and was a big part of the "flapper" culture that was prevalent during the pre-recession America. This was a time of indulgence and excess, and people were enjoying themselves in the afterglow of World War I. However, the good times weren't going to last forever, with the crash of 1929 ending much of the consumption that took place before then.
