The answer would actually be that a 1 M NaCl solution would be twice as hypertonic when compared with the 1M sucrose solution. This is due to the fact that when NaCl dissolves, it dissociates into Na+ and Cl- ions. So the 1 M NaCl has twice as many solute particles as the 1M sucrose.
