2x-3y = 8

Add 3y on both sides

2x = 8 + 3y

Subtract 8 on both sides

3y = 2x - 8

Divide 3 on both sides

[tex]y= \frac{2}{3}x- \frac{8}{3}[/tex]

- 3y = 8 - 2x
y = ( 8 - 2x ) / -3

 or

2x - 3y = 8 
2x = 8 + 3y
2x - 8 = 3y
