The overall goal of the Napoleonic Code was to reform French law in line with the principles of the Revolution.
The law was created in order to modernize democracy and further human rights and equality - it was so important that many countries made new laws based on the Napoleonic Code. It gave more rights and freedoms to the people, by deleting any privileges and stressing equality.
