There are 3 types of infinitives in Spanish: those that end in -AR, those that end in -ER, and those that end in -IR.

For example...

Hablar (to speak)
Comer (to eat)
Vivir (to live)

Depends really on the word some have 3 and others have 4 or just 2 etc.
