It has feet attached to its head. Cephalopod is a Greek word, where cephalo means head, and pod means foot. So a possible translation would be head-foot, which means that the feet are attached to the head. An octopus, or an octopod, means that it has 8 legs, because octo means 8, and pod means foot.
