The silent majority during the time of Nixon are those people that do not tell which side they are if they want the Vietnam War policies or not. However, some a War veteran did make a reaction on Nixon's speech and argued that part of this silent majority are families that got involved in the war through military assignments. It doesn't actually mean that their silence is a sign that they agreed with war policies.
