The length of a rectangle is twice its width. if the perimeter of the rectangle is 60 ft , find its length and width.

L = 2W
P = 2L + 2W
60 = 2(2W) +2W
60 = 4w +2w
60 = 6w
60/6 = 6w/6
w = 10
L= 2(10)
L = 20

Check

P = 2L + 2W
60 = 2(20) +2(10)
60 = 40 +20
60 = 60
