Why were Loyalists willing to support continued British rule but Patriots were not?

Patriots believed that the way England was treating them was wrong. After all they did leave England to rule themselves. The Loyalists, however, believed that England was their country and believed that it had a right in governing them. This is my answer and I hope I is helpful and correct. Good Luck! :)
