I don't know if this is helpful but during mitosis, DNA coils into chromosomes, which are considered chromatid pairs. these chromatid pairs are divided to opposing ends of the cell during various phases of mitosis, and the parent cell DIVIDES into two distinct but identical DAUGHTER CELLS. one half of the chromatid pair, or DNA is contained in each daughter cell.
