The idea behind General Mao Zedong’s Great Leap Forward was that rapid development of china’s agriculture and industrial sectors would take place side by side in Parallel. His hope was to industrialize by using the massive supply of cheap labour and having import and expensive heavy machinery to aid in the industrialization
