There are many ways in which Leonardo da Vinci displayed the inventiveness that was characteristic of the Renaissance. One of these ways was through his notebooks. Da Vinci's notebooks are very significant because he was interested in many different areas of study, including mechanics. His notebooks contain plans for machines and devices that would not be invented for many decades, or even centuries.
