Yes The Rules: Rule Example Two like signs become a positive sign +(+) 3+(+2) = 3 + 2 = 5 −(−) 6−(−3) = 6 + 3 = 9 Two unlike signs become a negative sign +(−) 7+(−2) = 7 − 2 = 5 −(+) 8−(+2) = 8 − 2 = 6

Yes you can subtract a negative number, here is an example:
If you are going to subtract two negatives, make sure you put parenthesis on it:
−15−(−7)
Then you turn it into a positive:
−15+7
Your answer for it should be:
=−8
So yes, you can subtract negatives.
