Joseph Keppler was an American, born in Austria, cartoonist and caricaturist. His specialty are political cartoons in which he portrayed political corruptions. His cartoons gained great popularity and publicity, mainly because of his successful adaption of historical and classical subjects to his criticism in modern life.
