Keep a clear desk space with little distraction.
Take a break every 20-30 minutes to clear you mind.
Have a snack every once in a while.
Try to study in a place with little noise. 
Don't study on a bed or laying down, as you might fall asleep.

- Take your time with positive and negative numbers in same equation

- Pay attention to the signs / symbols

- Watch your letters when doing algebra, don't leave any out
