Islamic law is also known as Sharia law. It is essentially the religious law derived from teachings in the Quran and Hadith that give Muslims a guidance of life according to Islam. Nearly every majority Muslim country practices Sharia law as their form of political, social, and religious justice. Examples of laws include the abstinence of alcohol and pork, and famous punishments include stoning but have been gradually replaced by western forms of punishment.
