Solve the system of equations by the substitution method.
- x + 3y = 7
- 3x + 8y = 19

- X = 7 -3y

=> X = 3y -7

Now substitute it in 2nd equation!

-3x+ 8y =19

=> -3 (3y- 7) + 8y =19

=> -9y +21 +8y = 19

=> -y = 19-21

=> y = 2

Now x= 3y-7

=> X = 3×2-7

=> X = 6 -7

=> X = -1
