1.  a=h(b+c)
2.  distribute the h:
         a=hb+hc
3.  move the 'hb' to the left:
         a - hb = hc
4.  subtract the a from both sides:
         -hb = hc - a
5.  divide both sides by -h to isolate b:
          b = -hc+a/h
