If [tex]x-a[/tex] is a factor of a polynomial [tex]P(x)[/tex] then, [tex]a[/tex] is its root.

So [tex]-2[/tex] is a root of [tex]x^3-19x-p[/tex]

[tex](-2)^3-19\cdot(-2)-p=0\\-8+38-p=0\\p=30[/tex]
