distribute 1/2

y-8=1/2x-2

simplify it bring the -8 over to the right side and turn it into a positive 8

y=1/2x-2+8

add the 8 to -2 and get 6

y=1/2x+6

go up to 6 on the y axis and that is your intercept so place a point then go up .5 and over 1 every time and draw a line.
