So the German High Seas Fleet put to sea under the command of the combative Admiral Reinhard Scheer. The British fleet sailed to intercept them, led by the much more conservative Admiral Sir John Jellicoe. Although Britain lost the most ships, the outcome of the battle was not that clear cut.
