the important thing about Nitrogen is that it provides air for humans to breathe in, 78% of the air we breathe in is Nitrogen and only 21% is oxygen, 1% is other gases. If the air was pure oxygen then everything would be extremely flammable, and it would also be harmful to humans. Nitrogen plays a very important role in our lives. Oxygen can be poisonous if it was the only gas in the air... we would initially all die if nitrogen wasn't in our atmosphere
