your trying to find how much money does each apples cost if you pay $3 on 6 apples.
1st way you could do it is 3 divided by 6 wich is .50cents
or you can split the 50 cents up and say
.50 +. 50= $1
.50 + .50= $1
.50 +.50 = $1
there are $3 and there are 6 groups of 50 cents and the each 50 cents counts for 1 apple.
So, the cost of each apple is 50 cents
