Given

  • [tex]f(x)=4x;[/tex]
  • [tex]g(x)=5x+1.[/tex]

1. Find the rule for [tex]f(2g(x)):[/tex]

[tex]f(2g(x))=f(2\cdot (5x+1))=f(10x+2)=4\cdot (10x+2)=40x+8.[/tex]

2. Find the rule for [tex]g(f(x)+1):[/tex]

[tex]g(f(x)+1)=g(4x+1)=5\cdot (4x+1)+1=20x+5+1=20x+6.[/tex]

Answer: [tex]f(2g(x))=40x+8,[/tex] [tex]g(f(x)+1)=20x+6.[/tex]
