Amount of tomatoes = [tex]\frac{1}{2}[/tex] pound

Amount of lettuce needed for half pound of tomatoes = [tex]2\frac{1}{4}= \frac{9}{4}[/tex]

So amount of lettuce needed for 1 pound of tomatoes will be =

We will double the lettuce amount or in other words, multiply it by 2.

So, [tex]\frac{9}{4}\times2= \frac{9}{2}[/tex]

Hence, [tex]\frac{9}{2}[/tex] pounds of lettuce will be needed for 1 pound of tomatoes.
