-6(1-5x)=54

First you will distribute the -6 into the parentheses giving you

-6+30x=54 remember that a negative times a negative equals a positive

Now you add 6 to 54 this cancels out your -6

30x=60

Now divide 30x by 30 and 60 by 30 giving you x=2

8=8x-4(x+8)

first distribute -4 into the parentheses giving you

8=8x-4x-32

Now to simplify put the 8x and- 4x together, then add 32 to the 8 on the other side giving you

40=4x

Now divide 40 by 4 which will give you 10=x or x=10
