They both used airplanes and aircraft carriers in these
battles. During this period aircraft
carriers were emerging to be important vessels in both sea and aerial
warfare. They were becoming the weapon
of choice since they can transport bombers and fighter planes to bomb and
attack enemy planes and ships.
