Jonas Salk was an American virologist who developed one of the world's successful vaccines against Polio. He studied in the medical school of the University of New York. After deciding he would devote his further efforts to medical research, he goes on to work for Mount Sinai Hospital in 1939. He would develop the vaccine for polio during his time at this medical center.
