0 = 2x * 2 – 3x – 8 

Step 1: Switch sides
 - (2x * 
2 - 3x - 8 = 0)

Step 2: Mutiply the number: 2 * 2 = 4
 - (4x - 3x - 8 = 0)

Step 3: Add similar elements: 4x - 3x = x
 - (x - 8 = 0)

Step 4: Add 8 to both sides
 - (x - 8 + 8 = 0 + 8)

Step 5: Simplify
 - (x = 8)
