-9x - 3y = 6, when x = -2

Plug in -2 for x.

-9(-2) - 3y = 6

Simplify.

18 - 3y = 6

Subtract 18 from both sides.

-3y = 6 - 8

Simplify.

-3y = -2

Divide both sides by -3.

y = 2/3
